SOLYP is founded in Nuremberg by three partners: Jan Borchers, Martin Rügamer, and Alexander Zimmermann. Managing partner is Alexander Zimmermann. Advisory board members are Dr. Dieter Brunke, Prof. em. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dr.-Ing E.h. Dietger Hahn, and Cornelia Mockwitz.

In a joint project with the Fraunhofer-Institute, SOLYP develops a method for storing and publishing information independent of its format (text, images, videos, etc.).
