Since 2000, SOLYP has carried out various kinds of projects for Siemens on the basis of SOLYP3.

Siemens focuses its business portfolio consistently on highly competitive and profitable growth fields. Through targeted corporate acquisitions, the group systematically strengthens its strategic position in the four sectors energy, healthcare, industry, and infrastructure. The strategic management process needs to take these continuous portfolio movements into account. Newly acquired business units are immediately included in the strategic planning and decision-making process. A clear, well-structured approach to strategic planning is an absolutely necessary prerequisite for this to succeed.

By the end of February, each division prepares its strategic business plan for the annual strategic planning process. Topics, structure, and format of the business plan are specified by the central corporate strategy division in form of uniform templates that are binding to all sectors. The heart of the business plan are strategies for increasing growth as well as strategic and economic performance. Based on this document–-internally simply referred to as slide book--the division CEO presents his strategy in strategy review meetings to the Board. All slide books of the individual divisions have the same basic content structure.
